Preventative Dental Care

We encourage our patients to care for their oral health with regular teeth cleanings, X-rays, sealants and fluoride treatments. The best kind of dental care is the kind that prevents future problems. We’re happy to help you and your family learn how to take care of your smile so it lasts for years to come.

Periodontal Care

We offer care for your gums too! If you are experiencing bad breath, red or swollen gums, tender or bleeding gums, pain when chewing, loose or sensitive teeth or receding gums, you may be suffering from periodontal disease. Getting treatment early can reduce the risk of losing your teeth due to advanced periodontal disease.

Extractions

We offer tooth extractions, including the removal of teeth for denture placement. This is often the last option we consider, as we prefer to save as many of your natural teeth as possible, but as always, we’ll discuss your treatment options with you to let you make an informed decision regarding your care.

Pediatric Dentistry

Bring your entire family to Austin Bluffs Dental. We take our time with children to ensure that their early dental experiences are as fun as possible, reducing the risk that they’ll develop a dental phobia as adults.

Endodontic (Root Canal) Treatment

Endodontics is the treatment of the inside of the tooth and is most closely associated with root canal surgeries and therapy. In the case that a root canal is needed, we can perform the procedure safely right here in our office.

I’ve been going to Dr. Kearney for 33 years now and never had something I needed special work on until this month when I broke off a piece of my tooth on a popcorn kernel. I was able to get an appointment that same day and waited only a few minutes before the dental assistant looked at the tooth, took X-rays, and Dr. Kearney came in a few minutes later and repaired the tooth. I was done in an hour and able to eat later that night with no pain.

How often do you go to the dentist and actually have fun? I did today! The entire Austin Bluffs Dental team is very friendly and was caring about my comfort. But their willingness to joke around and have fun certainly made it much easier to walk into that hour-long treatment in the chair. Compared to the somber, no-smile dentists I’ve been to in the past, walking into a friendly, laughing atmosphere is really enjoyable. Of course, I’m not saying Dr. Kearney’s jokes were actually good, (😄), but his work absolutely was! Minimum discomfort, continuous checking on how I was feeling, and an explanation of what will be done on the next visit.
